The National Martin Luther King Electronic Network |
|
The National MLK Electronic Network is made up of a growing number of people from all walks of life; retired citizens, faith leaders, business persons, journalists, government workers, homemakers, college students, university professors and community leaders representing many ethnic groups throughout America. There are thousands of people in this network. Most support the work of the King Committee or otherwise adhere to the teachings of nonviolence and mutual respect espoused by Dr. King. The main function of the Network is to share information, insight and encouragement. The King Network is a web-based group of people from all 50 states and a few foreign countries. The group is nonpartisan. We do not evoke any particular political or religious views or engage in demagoguery in any form. What the Network does strive to do is provide a means for sharing information on a consistent basis, where peoples of different ethnic backgrounds can help further the goals of educational, economic and social equality. In encouraging dialogue and interaction, we as a society stand a much better chance of achieving "liberty and justice for all" in the new Millennium. Generally, we will send out only one message per week, via a sophisticated mass e-mail system. Just prior to the Annual King Holiday you may receive maybe two a week. We are very sensitive not to overload you with too many e-mail messages. Those in the Network are free to post notes in the feedback section. There are no rules or expectations on what might be posted. The primary objectives to receive periodic information and pass along to others when appropriate. There are neither dues nor subscriptions required. Anyone at any time may disconnect from the Network if she or he wishes. To become a member of the National MLK Network is easy enough, just click here and sign the guest book. We think you will be pleasantly surprised and will treasure your association with a growing cadre of progressively thinking citizens who recognize the value of sharing in cyberspace. Our basic adage is.... If you think you can... you will. And, of course, if you think you can't... you're right. Warmly & appreciatively, Bruce
